Why I love Cats

Why should all people learn about the behaviour, skills and abilities of cats? And maybe copy them to some degree.

Here I explain why.

Big and small cats are scary-intelligent, they figure out most problems , you do not need to talk to them or give them orders. They talk based on their actions. If they do not like something, they will give you a massage with their paws saying “ I did not like that sir ”;  sometimes I can see in their look they are saying “I am intuitive and you are rational, Do I need to go down to your level to understand what you are trying to tell me?” They only understand one word from me. FOOD. When I utter it, it takes them 0.3 seconds from any place in the house to reach their bowl. Loyalty? They will be loyal to you until you make the mistake of letting somebody else feed them. One of their favorite toys which they could play forever is a laser pointer. That is the only way I found for them to be still along with movies about big cats. They don’t even blink. I might have proof that when looking like  crazy a lost cat all over the house, they might be able to turn invisible.

If you have cats, you know when I say you never notice or hear when they enter a room or leave. They are the very definition of stealth. I happen to have two cats which are siblings from the same set, which means their bonding and love for each other is unmatched by anything or any other cat I saw before in my life (not even humans) When they are at it, playing and loving to each other I tell them they will end up in the animal hospital, but they have never hurt each other even with their complaints.  Sometimes I feel they can see things that we cannot see.

To see how super social they are, they play together, eat, sleep one on top of the other, explore , ultra curious , relentless when they want something; the way they learn is awesome, when they arrived at two months old they would play outside the railings of the stairs in my second floor, I was worried and horrified they could die from the fall, one day I was working with my head set on, and heard a paaaaa, I knew right  away one of the cats fell.  When I Went down, the cat was moving very slowly, but did not complain thinking I needed to take him to the hospital, so I said ok, if tomorrow he is not ok I will take him to the vet. The next day he was running all over the place, so truly they have 9 life’s , well 8 now. He would not do it ever again; amazingly, Venus the female saw him falling, and she would not do it again either, ever , humanity needs to learn about this and all aspects of cats, because they are quite frankly amazing creatures.

Some people when told to adopt two cats, they say no because it is too much work. Well, it's quite the opposite. It is A LOT less work having two cats, than one because the only one that can entertain and provide company to  a cat is not you, but another cat. And they are and look  a million times happier than the faces I see from cats waiting to be adopted at the shelters.

Also they are so agile that I dare you to catch a cat running at full speed, or saying the “cat cannot jump that high”, it will take you longer to say it, than the cat to show you it can do pretty much anything; when they decide to hide from you, and all doors are open in the house, good luck finding them. They are extremely loving, and bonus parts , they have incredible night vision which means they can see perfectly in pitch black environments. I saw a video on Youtube from a cat climbing a wall with their claws. Amazing. Another report is that cats can survive in extreme conditions for up to a month with very little food or water. I do not know of any other living being able to do that.

Also they have no fear and unfortunately when faced with wild life outside the house, well, odds are against the cat. Because a cat  is not a match for a wild animal which has the experience to survive 24/7 outside (except when fighting a snake that has 0.07sec  reflexes against 0.02sec of the cat which is lightning fast). I experienced it when I was 6 years old and my cat would always go out at night and come back all messed up the next morning. Well, one morning he did not come back, so we figured he got into his final fight.

Cats are the fastest animals on the planet (Cheetah), which is able to run at 120 Km/h, which even cameras can't fully focus on when at full speed on sand, their prey? The second fastest animal on the planet, the Gazelle. I have not seen one recording where you can fully see the animals the entire time on a full speed hunt and chase, you see a cloud of dust. They can travel 25 feet in a single stride, and their elegance running is described as part animal part magic.

We have to mention the KING of all earthly animals, the LION. Which lives a great life because the female is the hunter and attends him with food. They reach speeds of 80 Km/h. (50 Mph) in short distances. They can reach 500 pounds and scientists want to make sure they don’t piss them off by mistake.

The biggest cat on earth and the most capable and feared of all animals on the planet and is THE TIGER, that when standing on its hind legs, they can reach 9-12 feet high, and can run at 65 Kph (40 Mph) so try to find and meet a full sized tiger in the jungle and see how it goes and if you can make it out alive. The odds are against you. They can perfectly swim and dive down to retrieve a piece of meat. Never ever run and climb a tree. The tiger will also climb and get to you in 0.5 seconds. Their agility is absolute magic to be witnessed.

The Biggest Tiger: The Siberian Tiger

The Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), also known as the Amur tiger, is the largest of all tiger subspecies. An adult male can weigh up to 660 pounds (300 kg) and measure up to 11 feet long from nose to tail tip. Its massive size and powerful build are an adaptation to the cold, harsh climate of the Russian Far East.

The Most Feared Tiger: The Bengal Tiger

While the Siberian tiger is larger, the Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) has historically been considered the most feared due to its history of being a "man-eater." This reputation comes primarily from tigers in the Sundarbans region of India and Bangladesh, which were historically responsible for a high number of human fatalities.

The most famous example is the Champawat Tigress, a Bengal tiger that holds the Guinness World Record for the most human fatalities by a tiger, with over 430 recorded victims in the early 20th century. Her behavior was a result of injury, which made hunting her natural prey difficult, and not a typical characteristic of the species.

Hope you enjoyed the reading.
