We treat the divine as a cosmic concierge or an automated delivery service. We submit our prayers like online orders, sit back on the couch of comfortable stagnation, and wonder why the package hasn’t arrived. We pray for financial breakthrough while refusing to fix our habits. We pray for deep, meaningful relationships while remaining guarded and isolated. We pray for a calling, but we won't even pick up a shovel to clear our own backyard.

The bitter but liberating reality of spiritual law is simple: God does not build bridges over canyons we refuse to walk toward. He waits for us at the mileposts.

The Illusion of Passive Faith

Somewhere along the line, the concept of faith was hijacked by passivity. We confused "waiting on the Lord" with doing absolutely nothing. The Law of the Checkpoint: God provides the grace, the strength, and the resources required only for the milepost you are currently approaching. He does not fund Milepost 50 while you are still refusing to leave Milepost 1.

We often demand that God show us the entire map before we put the car in drive. We want a guarantee of the outcome, a visual of the final destination, and an assurance that there will be no potholes. When you take that step into the semi-darkness, arriving at Milepost 1, you suddenly find that God is already there waiting for you. He has deposited the precise insight, the specific relationship, or the unexpected resource you need for that exact stage of the journey.

If you never leave the starting line, you will die thinking God abandoned you, when in reality, He was simply waiting for you at the milestone you were too terrified to walk toward.

God is a creator, not a performer. He designed the universe on the principle of partnership, not entitlement.

When you ask God to change your life, you are asking for a collaboration.

1. Identify Your Current Milepost: What is the one obvious, small, yet uncomfortable thing you know you need to do right now that you’ve been putting off? (Updating the resume, having the hard conversation, forgiving the debt, cutting out the distraction). That is your Milepost 1.

2. Stop Asking for the Whole Map: Quit demanding that God explain the next five years to you. Ask only for the courage to handle the next five hours.

God is incredibly faithful, but He cannot steer a parked car. The moment you shift into drive, the moment you press your foot to the accelerator of obedience, you will realize the profound truth: He was never hiding from you. He was just waiting for you further down the road.
